WASHINGTON/BEIJING (Reuters) - President Barack Obama met exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Friday in a show of concern about China’s human rights practices, and in spite of warnings from China the visit would “seriously damage” ties between the two countries.
Nice but this is still ridiculous: “The United States recognizes Tibet as part of China and does not support Tibetan independence…”
Where there is oil, we support independence. Where there is no strategic resources to be gained and only an economic giant to piss off, we do nothing.
It seems that our love of freedom and independence is second only to our self-serving agenda. Given the lack of coverage regarding the happenings in other countries as well, such as Venezuela, I can only feel frustrated with our international policy.
I typically refrain from this kind of political conjecture but it really does make me wonder.
Yesterday I decided that the ultimate Valentines gift would be to commit to a 30-day yogaeveryday challenge in order to deepen my commitment to being more loving and compassionate towards myself.
Day 2 of my 30 day yoga challenge was just what I needed on this Saturday Morning. Was congested all day yesterday and worried I would not be able to breathe in class but the high energy sequence helped me sweat out the sickiness and breathe fully. Also got an amazing workout :D It was only fitting that the instructor started the class by encouraging us to do the poses in a way that made us love ourselves and Yoga, especially in those challenging poses!!
